Schreiber Center Honored by Clark Associates’ $250,000 Donation

During this year’s Clark Associates Derby Day event it was announced that the Clark Associates Charitable Foundation would be donating $250,000 to the Schreiber Center! The annual Derby Day event raises funds every year to tackle issues such as homelessness, food insecurity, economic challenges, and the needs of individuals with physical, intellectual, and social/emotional disabilities. The Schreiber Center is honored to once again be included among the esteemed organizations chosen to receive funds raised at this extraordinary event.
It is our privilege to serve our local community by providing life-changing therapy services to children in need. Since the foundation of the center by Edna Schreiber 1936, we have remained steadfast in our promise to never turn away a child seeking our services due to their family’s financial circumstances. It is through the remarkable generosity of our community that we can uphold this promise.
As one of the only pediatric facilities in the area accepting Medicaid as a form of payment, we lose an average of about $74 per hour of therapy provided, due to low reimbursement rates. Over the course of a year that equates to over $2.5 million lost in uncompensated care costs. It is because of the dedication of our community partners, supporters, donors, and organizations like Clark Associates Charitable Foundation that we can keep our doors open and continue to provide vital therapy services to local children in need.
Every dollar donated to the Schreiber Center is an investment in our children. An investment in our families. And an investment in the future of our community. The impact of the generosity of our supporters extends far beyond the walls of our center, reaching into the homes and hearts of those we serve, helping to create a more stable and hopeful future for all.

As a nationally recognized pediatric facility, the Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development provides family-centered education and therapy programs for infants, children and adolescents with disabilities, developmental delays, and acquired injuries. Our goal-oriented approach maximizes each child’s ability to function independently within the community.
