Approved community service opportunities for select non-violent offenses
Required Clearances & Application
Court-ordered community-service volunteers are required to complete the:
Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Certification
Free for volunteers
Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Record Check
Free for volunteers
If you already have these clearances and they are valid within the last 60 months, we will gladly accept those documents. Please be prepared to upload them at the end of the
Community Service Overview
The Schreiber Center accepts Pennsylvania-based court-ordered community service hours for select non-violent misdemeanors, traffic violations, and some probation violations.
Community-service volunteers support Schreiber through operational and facility-related projects that help maintain safe, welcoming spaces for children and families.
Community Service Opportunities
Court-ordered community-service volunteers assist with tasks such as:
- Cleaning and organizing
- Facility and grounds maintenance
- Shredding and operational support
- Other behind-the-scenes projects that support Schreiber’s programs and services
Community-service volunteers do not have direct contact with clients, students, or program participants.
Offenses we permit
- DUI/DWI
- Possession of Marijuana
- Minor Traffic Violations
- Underage Drinking
Excluded Offenses: Felonies, violent offenses, sexual offenses, or offenses against children.
- Assault/Battery
- Child/Elder abuse or neglect
- Domestic violence
- Homicide
- Kidnapping
- Rape
- Sexual assault
- Burglary
- Drug sales and/or distribution
- Weapon possession
- Theft
- Any Federal Offense
Important Information
Offenses will be verified through Pennsylvania court records using the applicant’s docket number prior to approval.
Federal offenses and offenses committed outside the state of Pennsylvania are not eligible.
The Schreiber Center reserves the right to accept or deny any application that does not meet community service guidelines.
