Our Story
Founded in 1936 in response to the polio epidemic, Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development began when Edna Schreiber, with support from the local community, set out to create opportunities and provide care for children with disabilities.
Under Edna’s leadership, the organization grew into a trusted resource for children and families throughout central Pennsylvania. What began as a program focused primarily on orthopedic needs has evolved into a comprehensive pediatric development organization serving children of all abilities.
Today, Schreiber continues to adapt and innovate to meet the changing needs of children and families while remaining rooted in compassionate, family-centered care.

Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development offers the finest in innovative early childhood education and therapy services for infants, children, and adolescents with disabilities, developmental delays, and acquired injuries. We strive to maximize each child’s ability to function independently and thrive within their community.
