Circle of Friends Academy Child Care

Circle of Friends Academy Logo

At the Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development, our Circle of Friends Academy (COFA) childcare program offers a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for children from infancy through school age. Our dedicated team of educators and caregivers nurture each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

Our Philosophy

  • Inclusion: We foster an inclusive environment where children of all abilities learn together, promoting understanding and acceptance of diversity.
  • Equality and Safety: We provide every child with equal treatment in a safe, caring setting that maximizes learning and independence.
  • Growth and Friendship: We encourage children to develop friendships, embrace their uniqueness, and recognize their shared humanity.

Infant Room

For infants aged 6 weeks up to 18 months old, our Infant Room provides a nurturing space where our littlest friends engage in activities that stimulate their senses and support motor skill development. Caregivers focus on helping babies reach key developmental milestones through interactive play and gentle guidance.

Toddler Room

Designed for children aged 1 to 3 years, our Toddler Room encourages exploration and discovery. Teachers create a flexible and engaging environment where toddlers learn through play, develop social skills, and build early peer relationships. Activities in our toddler room are tailored to foster independence and curiosity.

Pre-K Room

For children aged 3 to 5 years, our Pre-K Room prepares them for kindergarten success. The curriculum emphasizes social skills, problem-solving, and self-help abilities. Children engage in activities that enhance their cognitive, physical, and emotional development in a safe and nurturing environment.

Parent Testimonial

“As a parent, seeing how excited Colton is to go to Circle of Friends Academy each day reassures me that he’s in the right place. The way his teachers and therapists support him has made a world of difference, not just in his progress but in his happiness.” – Colton’s mom, Tara

Born with significant brain injuries due to a nontraumatic subdural hemorrhage, Colton’s journey with Schreiber began at just nine months old. Now, through the nurturing environment of our Circle of Friends Academy (COFA) and his dedicated therapy team, he’s making incredible strides in his development and forming lasting connections with his peers and teachers.

Parent Testimonials

“I can tell how much Jack loves everybody here. When I take him out to say goodbye, everybody knows his name. Everybody says goodbye to him. He lights up and smiles. Knowing Christina Kalyan and having seen her work, I could say she would give Jack the kind of care he needed. You guys do a fantastic job with kids with disabilities. And you also look at the whole family unit, and I think that’s really important.”
