  • Volunteer at an Event

    To volunteer at one of our events please complete the Schreiber Event Volunteer application.

    Rubber Duckie Race & Festival: 2024

    Volunteers are needed on Race & Festival Day for various tasks such as selling game tickets, staffing game/craft tables, and distributing race packets and prizes. It’s a fun-filled day for a great cause!

    Gala: Spring 2025

    Help us create a memorable evening! We’re looking for volunteers to assist with set-up, check-in, guest direction, silent auction oversight, and more. Be part of an elegant event supporting our mission.

    Community/Health Fairs

    Represent Schreiber at community and health-related fairs and expos. Help set up and staff our informational table.

  • Volunteer in our Preschool & Daycare

    S.T.A.R.S. Preschool

    Support our IU-contracted preschool by assisting in classroom activities. We offer AM and PM classes on T/Th and M/W/F. Consistent volunteering helps maintain a stable environment for the children.

    Circle of Friends Academy

    Our childcare program needs volunteers for tasks like preparing lunch, assisting teachers, and more. Your consistent presence helps provide a nurturing environment for our children.

  • Volunteer with our Schreiber Kids

    To volunteer with our Schreiber Kids please complete the General Schreiber Volunteer clearances and application.

    Respite Nights

    Help give our client families a night of reprieve by watching over the children who attend our spring and fall Respite Nights.

    Club 625 Events

    Volunteer at our social club events for late teens and young adults. Be a chaperone and help lead activities at our popular dances and gatherings.

    Camp Schreiber: Summers Only

    Join us for a five-week summer camp and make a difference in the lives of kids, teens, and young adults of ALL abilities. Oversee fitness, sports, games, arts and crafts, and more. A commitment of at least two consecutive days is required.

  • Volunteer Behind the Scenes

    General Grounds Maintenance

    From mulching to weeding and gardening, Schreiber is in need of individuals or groups interested in helping us maintain our facilities.

    General Office Support

    From filing to photocopying and laminating and shredding, Schreiber is always in need of individuals who’d like to support our day-to-day operational activities.

    Therapy Services

    Over the course of a day, our therapy tools and resources are heavily utilized and there’s always a need for cleaning, organization or preparing materials for therapy sessions.

    Marketing Support

    We welcome individuals with skills in graphic design, writing/editing, photography, and videography to support our marketing and communication efforts. Contact Marketing & Communications Manager Lexi Cahill at acahill@schreiberpediatric.org to learn more about current needs and opportunities.

  • Court-Ordered Community Service

    The Schreiber Center accepts Pennsylvania-based court-ordered community service hours for non-violent misdemeanors, traffic violations, and some probation violations.

    We are currently only able to accommodate court-ordered community service for a limited number of roles. Community-service volunteers do not have direct contact with our clients or students. Rather they are responsible for other tasks that help support our mission. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, cleaning, facility and ground maintenance, shredding, etc.

    Offenses we permit:

    • DUI/DWI
    • Possession of Marijuana
    • Minor Traffic Violations
    • Underage Drinking

    Excluded Offenses: Felonies, violent offenses, sexual offenses, or offenses against children.

    • Assault/Battery
    • Child/Elder abuse or neglect
    • Domestic violence
    • Homicide
    • Kidnapping
    • Rape
    • Sexual assault
    • Burglary
    • Drug sales and/or distribution
    • Weapon possession
    • Theft
    • Any Federal Offense

    Offenses on your record will be verified by the via your docket number through the state of Pennsylvania prior to being accepted.  Federal offenses or those offenses committed in other states will not be accepted.

    The Schreiber Center reserves the right to accept or deny any application if it does not meet our community service guidelines.
