Celebrating 90 Years of Schreiber

May 27, 2026

“For 90 years, this community has helped ensure children and families have access to the support they need to thrive.” — James DeBord, Schreiber President

Since 1936, families across central Pennsylvania have turned to Schreiber for therapy, education, support, and community. What began with a simple belief—that every child deserves the opportunity to participate fully in the world around them—continues today through programs and services that support more than 2,000 children each year.

As we celebrate this milestone year, we’re proud to share a few of the stories, moments, and opportunities shaping Schreiber today.

A Community Celebration 90 Years in the Making

This spring, Schreiber’s 90th Anniversary Gala brought together supporters, families, volunteers, and community partners to celebrate the impact created over nine decades.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, the evening raised a record-breaking $532,354 to support therapy services for children and families.

The event also included the debut of Schreiber’s 90th Anniversary video and the introduction of our 2026 ambassadors, whose stories reflect what is possible when children receive consistent support over time.

During the evening, Schreiber honored Dr. Dennis Denenberg as Philanthropist of the Year. As a child, Dennis found his voice in speech therapy with Schreiber founder Edna Schreiber before going on to inspire generations of students through education and storytelling.

Guests also welcomed Lloyd K. Mosemann II, one of Schreiber’s oldest known living clients, reminding us that the impact of therapy and support can last a lifetime.

2026 Ambassadors at Gala

This year’s ambassadors reflect the determination, growth, and joy that happen every day at Schreiber. Their stories show what can happen when children receive consistent support, encouragement, and opportunities to thrive.

Please consider making a gift today.

For nine decades, Schreiber has been here for children and families across central PA — helping children build skills, gain confidence, and reach milestones that once felt out of reach.

Every therapy session, summer camp, classroom experience, and family support program is possible because of a community that believes every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.

As we celebrate this milestone year, we invite you to help shape the next 90 years of support, opportunity, and hope for children and families served by Schreiber.
