Seeking Teaching and Reaching Stars

S.T.A.R.S. Preschool in Lancaster PA is open to all children in the community ages 3-5. It is one of just a few preschools based on ‘reverse-mainstreaming,’ a term that refers to expanding what once was a program exclusively designed for children with special needs to include children of all abilities. By playing together, children learn to understand, accept and value diversity. S.T.A.R.S. year-round preschool program promotes continuing progress to reach educational and developmental milestones.

S.T.A.R.S. Philosophy

  • ALL CHILDREN have the intrinsic need to be included in their communities.
  • ALL CHILDREN need to be treated equally and fairly in a safe and caring environment that fosters maximum learning and independence.
  • ALL CHILDREN need to be encouraged to develop friendships and accept one another’s uniqueness, as well as realize their sameness.

The experienced staff at S.T.A.R.S. Preschool includes certified teachers and administrators, a licensed social worker, qualified assistants and community volunteers.

S.T.A.R.S. Preschool is licensed by the State Board of Academic Schools, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
