S.T.A.R.S. Preschool

Seeking Teaching and Reaching Stars

S.T.A.R.S. Preschool is open to all children in the community ages 3-5. It is one of just a few preschools based on ‘reverse-mainstreaming,’ a term that refers to expanding what once was a program exclusively designed for children with special needs to include children of all abilities. By playing together, children learn to understand, accept and value diversity. S.T.A.R.S. year-round program promotes continuing progress to reach educational and developmental milestones.

COVID-19: Governor: Schools closed indefinitely

Gov. Tom Wolf announced April 16 that all K-12 schools in Pennsylvania will remain closed indefinitely. S.T.A.R.S. will follow this guidance and remained closed until at least June 30. A start date for the 2020-2021 academic year has not been announced. Read the governor’s full announcement here.

COVID-19: Annual Schreiber Egg Hunt canceled

Because of ongoing concerns about COVID-19 social distancing and the importance of not gathering in large groups, Schreiber has canceled this year’s Schreiber Egg Hunt. The event had been scheduled for April 7. This year’s Egg Hunt was generously sponsored by Eye Associates of Lancaster. We look forward to bringing the Egg Hunt back bigger and better in 2021.

Parent Testimonials

“When we were looking around for preschools for Miles, I liked the emphasis at S.T.A.R.S. on diversity and that there are children of all abilities. I liked it so much I’ve sent all my boys here.”
