Schreiber’s Softball Weekend Hits a Homerun! Raises over $50,000 for Local Children with Special Needs

(LANCASTER, Pa.) – 35 teams and close to 450 players came out the weekend of May 31-June 2 to support Schreiber Pediatric Rehab Center’s 31st Annual Softball Weekend, raising $50,585 for local children with special needs. The event took place at Lancaster County Central Park and Froelich Park, Mountville, with the 2013 Schreiber Ambassadors and their families cheering on the players!

Sunday’s 4th annual tournament play brought 9 highly competitive teams out to the ballpark. Team Scrubs and Team Ewell Trucking will battle it out for the 2013 title in the final game at Clipper Stadium on Monday, July 1st. The winning team will take home a trophy, baseball caps and the right to defend their title again next year.

The top fundraising award was once again given to Team Manheim Struggling Farmers who contributed over $19,000-—up over $2,000 from 2012! Their support and enthusiasm for Schreiber Pediatric continues to grow year-to-year and the Center is thankful for their sincere dedication.

The year’s Softball Weekend sponsors included Fraternal Order of Police – Red Rose Lodge #16, FM97 WLAN, Bath Fitter, Wiley’s Pharmacy, E&E Metal Fab, Inc., Worley & Obetz, Integrity Pools and Spas, Lancaster County Parks and Recreation, and WJTL 90.3. Additional supporters included Cystal Springs, Kunzler & Company, Inc., Gayle Kline R.V. Center, Inc., Mellott Brothers RV, Turkey Hill Minit Markets and Manheim Sertoma.
