Schreiber’s Softball Weekend Hits a Homerun! Raises over $65,000 for Children with Special Needs

(LANCASTER, Pa.)- 50 teams and close to 800 players came out the weekend of June 3-5 to support Schreiber Pediatric Rehab Center’s 29th Annual Softball Weekend, raising over $65,000 for children with special needs. The event took place at Lancaster County Central Park and Froelich Park, Mountville, with the 2011 Ambassadors throwing the first pitch of the game on Friday night to kick-off 48 hours of old-fashion fun!

Sunday’s 2nd annual tournament play brought 11 highly competitive teams out to the ballpark. Team Hager Parking and Team S&J Exotic Flooring will battle it out for the 2011 title, a trophy, baseball caps and a skybox at an upcoming Barnstormers’ Game this upcoming Monday night. The final game will be played on Lancaster’s minor league field at Clipper Stadium and is open to the public with concessions available for purchase.

The top fundraising award was once again given to the Manheim Struggling Farmers who contributed over $14,500. Their support and enthusiasm for Schreiber Pediatric continues to grow year-to-year and the Center is thankful for their sincere dedication.
