Schreiber Board Members to Play Staff and Kiddos at Softball Weekend, Game To End with Pie Throwing at President, James DeBord

(Lancaster, PA) – This Saturday, June 7 at 9:00 AM, Schreiber Board members will be taking on its staff members and children who receive the Center’s services in a fun-loving softball game at Froelich Park, Mountville.

This tradition began a few years ago and has grown into one of the most treasured moments of the year. “It builds relationships and a wonderful sense of community,” commented therapist, Bernie Hershey. “The kids really look forward to the game.” Hershey has taken the lead on rallying the players, including Schreiber volunteers to partner with each child and help them participate in the game; it’s played by Challenger rules http://www.littleleague.org/learn/about/divisions/challenger.htm.

This year marks the 32nd Annual Softball Weekend, a fundraiser to support the therapy services of the Center for thousands of children with disabilities and developmental delays across Central PA. The Board vs. Staff/Kid game will end in a pie throwing contest at Schreiber President, James DeBord. Donations to Schreiber Pediatric will be accepted for a chance to toss a pie!

For nearly eighty years, Schreiber Pediatric has been serving children with congenital and acquired disabilities in Central Pennsylvania. For more information, please visit www.schreiberpediatric.org.
