Sensory Processing: You Really Are What You Eat, See, Smell and Feel!

Bernie Hershey earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and master's degree in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman's University. She has been a part of Schreiber Pediatric for almost 9 years and loves to see positive change in the children she serves. Bernie and her family live in Lancaster, along with two dogs and a horse.

Her presentation is titled "Sensory Processing: You Really are What You Eat, See, Smell, and Feel!" Topics that will be covered include:

  • What is the sensory system?
  • How does sensory information get processed?
  • What happens when sensory information is not processed well?
  • How can we change this to maximize function?
