Swim Whisperers Program
At the Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development, our Swim Whisperers Program offers specialized swim lessons tailored to meet the needs of children with sensory and motor challenges. Developed by Swim Angelfish, this program empowers children to become confident and capable swimmers in a supportive and adaptive environment.
Key Components:
- Certified Instructors: Our therapists, certified as Swim Whisperers, provide expert guidance using proven strategies that address the unique challenges faced by each child.
- Individual Sessions: The program focuses on one-on-one instruction, ensuring that each child receives personalized attention and progresses at their own pace.
- Therapeutic Techniques: We incorporate therapeutic techniques to help children overcome water anxiety, improve motor skills, and enhance overall water safety.
- Structured Program: Participants attend half-hour sessions once a week, completing a 12-week program. After completing the program, children may continue with additional sessions or graduate from the program.
Benefits of the Swim Whisperers Program:
- Increased Confidence: Participants gain confidence in the water, reducing fear and enabling a positive swimming experience.
- Enhanced Motor Skills: The program focuses on improving coordination, strength, and balance, leading to better overall motor function.
- Water Safety: By teaching critical water safety skills, we help children develop the ability to navigate aquatic environments safely.
