State Auditor General, Eugene DePasquale to Visit Schreiber Pediatric Rehab Center

WHAT: Schreiber Pediatric Rehab Center will be hosting a visit from State Auditor General, Eugene DePasquale, on Friday, May 2 at 1:30PM. The purpose of this visit is to bring a greater awareness to the decision makers in Harrisburg regarding the insubstantial reimbursement rates paid by Medicaid to pediatric service providers like Schreiber Pediatric Rehab Center. The reimbursement rate falls so drastically below the cost to provide the service that in recent years other health providers have ceased offering these services. Currently, 90% of Schreiber clients are covered by Medicaid forcing the Center to underwrite $1.5 million in care each year.

PHOTO & INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITIES: Schreiber Pediatric Rehab Center’s President, James DeBord, will be leading a tour of the facility and answering any questions regarding Medicaid. Board members, staff and of course, clients and their parents, will also be participating and available for comment.
