Schreiber Pediatric Celebrates 75th Anniversary!
February 17, 2011The event will kick off at 6:00 p.m. with brief opening remarks by Chairman of the Board, Steven Riley, and a proclamation read by Commissioner Scott Martin, followed by a cake cutting ceremony by President William Jefferson and the 2011 Schreiber Ambassadors, Nicole Carpenter and Tristan Haas. The evening’s festivities will also include readings from the 75th Anniversary Schreiber collection of short stories titled, ‘A Mission of Hope,’ the unveiling of a 52 foot mural designed by local illustrator and long-time supporter, Bot Roda, arts and crafts for children purposefully chosen to reflect the therapeutic programs of the Center, as well as an art show by Schreiber preschool and daycare students, guided tours of the facility, refreshments and more.

Schreiber Pediatric Rehab Center was initially founded as a response to the polio epidemic in 1936 by concerned community members and the Rotary Club of Lancaster. Today, the Center is a nationally recognized not-for-profit organization that provides physical, occupational and speech-language therapy, as well as educational and recreational programs for nearly 4,000 children in Lancaster County living with congenital and acquired disabilities and developmental delays.
