Give Thanks for Schreiber Night set for Nov. 9

October 1, 2017

Schreiber Pediatric’s roots run deep in Lancaster County. The place we are today can be traced back to 1936 and the work of Edna Schreiber. In those nearly 82 years, we have served literally tens of thousands of children and their families and connected to hundreds of thousands of their friends, a network that stretches well beyond the borders of Lancaster County and Pennsylvania.
On Thursday, Nov. 9, we are inviting the community to visit Schreiber and light a candle to remember someone whose life was made better by our services. We’re calling this free evening celebration Give Thanks for Schreiber. We will have thousands of luminaries arranged around the grounds of the Schreiber campus. There will also be crafts and activities for the kids, including face painting and pumpkin decorating. The first 500 visitors will receive a free Stroopie from Lancaster Stroopies.
We’re also asking community members to remember that person and Schreiber during the Extraordinary Give, to be held for 24 hours starting at midnight, Friday, Nov. 17. Without all the generous support we receive, Schreiber Pediatric would not be here. Our services would not be available to families in central Pennsylvania. And all the lives made better by Schreiber through the years would be much different today. We want to light up the night with the community’s passion for Schreiber.
Schreiber gratefully acknowledges the Harrisburg law firm Rhoads & Sinon for supporting Give Thanks for Schreiber Night.
