‘Dodging Disabilities’ Dodgeball Tournament to Benefit Schreiber Pediatric

(LANCASTER, Pa.) – Calling all dodgeball lovers! Grab your team and head to Manheim Central’s gymnasium, on Saturday, May 11th for a dodgeball tournament. The event begins at 11:00 a.m. and will benefit the thousands of children with special needs that Schreiber Pediatric Rehab Center sees each year.

Sign-ups will be accepted Monday, April 22nd through Friday, May 3rd. Cost for individual players is only $8; team registration is $48. T-shirts will be available for purchase at the event for just $7.

This event is being organized and hosted by Manheim Central High School’s entrepreneurship class as part of a final project. Eighteen-year-old senior Matt Bankert recently commented, “In the past, classes have developed projects for a cause … created tshirts, bracelets, etc. This year, however, we wanted to do something different.” After they chose the dodgeball event the class voted on a nonprofit to donate the proceeds to, “After narrowing the decisions down to our top three choices, we all voted, and the results were unanimous. We chose Schreiber.”
