4th Annual ‘Music from the Heart’ Concert to benefit Schreiber Pediatric Rehab Center

(Lancaster, PA) – Saturday, March 9, 2013 marks the 4th Annual Music from the Heart concert to benefit Schreiber Pediatric Rehab Center. The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Faith United Church of Christ, 1204 Wabank Road, Lancaster. Admission is free (no tickets needed) and light refreshments will be served. Donations will be collected to benefit the therapy services of Schreiber Pediatric Rehab Center, a local not-for-profit serving children with special needs from birth to age 21.

With the help of her friends and family, Kim Shank and her brother-in-law Jason Rieker, have been organizing this event for the past four years. Shank’s daughter, Abbie, has received therapy services at Schreiber Pediatric for nearly six years as part of her treatment for Autism. “I became familiar with Schreiber because of my niece, Abbie,” commented Rieker. “This concert is a way to show others just how important having an organization like Schreiber is to our community.”

This year’s Music from the Heart concert will feature a variety of local artists including: barbershop quintet, The McCoy Boys, barbershop quartet, Break from Blue Collar, vocalists Katie Eshleman and Adam Good, pianist Sharon Ho, and Billy Joel fan and concert organizer Jason Rieker’s band, Odd Man Out. Patsy Sympson from 101 the Rose will emcee the event, filling interludes with information about Schreiber Pediatric’s many services to children in Central PA.

Last year, ‘Music from the Heart’ rose close to $3,500 for the Center. Its continued success fostered the idea of making it an annual event commented Shank. Schreiber Pediatric is thankful for the enthusiasm, dedication and generous support of the Rieker Family, the Shank Family and all the other contributors who returned for another very special evening.
