Better late than never
Schreiber resumed its fundraising events this summer, starting with the 38th Annual Softball Weekend. The event had been postponed from its original dates in June, and we had to switch the location back to Lancaster County Central Park where it had been for many years.
The result looked a lot like the successes we’ve had at past softball events: We raised $49,816.52. We want to say thanks to the generosity of the 29 teams who registered to play, and to this year’s Softball sponsors: Presenting Sponsor Fraternal Order of Police, Red Rose Lodge #16; Ferrrellgas; Kegel’s Produce; Abram Subcontracting; Charles Brothers Inc.; Mag North Land Surveying and Hegeman’s Landscape and Tree Service. We also want to acknowledge the support of FM97, Kunzler, B&T Sportswear, Crystal Springs, White Oak Ice and Lancaster County Parks and Recreation.
Finally, we are especially grateful for the time and hard work put in by this year’s Softball Committee: Co-chairs Bob Abram and Chad Denlinger; and committee members Luie Mendez Jr., Zach Buterbaugh, Joel Geib, Tom Dittoe, Scott Hogg and Ben Trissler.
In Sunday’s Tournament Play, rain forced an early end to the final round of the Men’s Division. Mangold’s IA and Inch & Co. were unable to play an official game, so they will share the title for this year.
In the Co-Ed Division, Appel Valley Butchers defeated Utility Keystone in the final round.
See you next year!

Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2019 Softball Weekend a HUGE success! With the help of supporters like you, we were able to raise over $50,000 for the children of Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development.
Kids and volunteers make the Schreiber Kids Softball Game an amazing annual tradition. For all the teams who play in Softball Weekend, this is why you do it, and it’s why we’re so grateful.
