School Age Children

Kids Yoga

Schreiber offers Kids Yoga classes under the direction of Denisha Kline, a pediatric physical therapist who is also an approved Kundalini Yoga teacher through Radiant Child Yoga. Yoga is a union of body, mind and spirit and it assists in improving self-regulation. Yoga for children and young adults offers a range of benefits, including:

  • Promotes and maintains strength and flexibility
  • Teaches concentration, body awareness, stress management, responsibility and discipline
  • Boosts creativity and confidence.

What: Kids Yoga classes
When: Monday nights starting April 9 and running for six weeks
Where: Schreiber's Multipurpose Room
Times: Class 1 for ages 5-13, 5-5:45 p.m.; Class 2 for ages 14-young adult, 6-6:45
How much: The registration fee for the six-week class is $65 per child, due at the time of registration.
Note: Class will be limited to 10 students. Plan to bring your own yoga mat. Wear comfortable clothing.

Bowling League
Our bowling program is designed for young people of all abilities. It's an opportunity to socialize and develop new friendships. To register, go here.

Dates: Tuesdays, April 10-May 15
Time: 4 to 6 p.m.
Age: 12 and up
Location: Leisure Lanes, 3440 Columbia Avenue, Lancaster
Cost: $65, includes games and shoes
Deadline: Tuesday, April 3

Social Skills
Participants learn to incorporate age-appropriate interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and anger-management skills into their daily routines via a series of fun outings and adventures. This program offers clients an opportunity to develop trust in others and increase self esteem. To register, go here.

Age: 7-12 years old

Pool Works

Pool Works is a new aquatic therapy program designed for children between the ages of 8 and 12 to improve strength, endurance and coordination. Led by a licensed Occupational Therapist and held in the Center's heated pool, Pool Works will challenge individuals to increase their range of motion, strength and body awareness through aquatic exercise. Other benefits include greater muscle stamina, agility, coordination and balance.

What: Pool Works classes
When: Runs for eight Tuesdays starting Sept. 26
Where: Schreiber Pediatric's heated therapy pool
Times: 6:15-7 p.m.
How much: $120 for one eight-week session
