Schreiber Pediatric is required by federal privacy rules to maintain the privacy of client health information and to provide client and/or parent/guardian notice of our legal duties and privacy practice with respect to protecting the confidentiality of health care information.

ETHICS

Schreiber Pediatric will maintain a code of ethics that declares the ethical values and standards of professional practice which employees and volunteers embrace and which they strive to uphold in their job responsibilities.

CLIENTS RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ADMINISTRATIVE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: Client's Rights and Responsibilities
Policy No. 116
This statement about client's rights and responsibilities is pursuant to Schreiber Pediatric's corporate obligations, policies, and administration. It is commensurate with the mission and objectives of this institution. The Center's Board of Directors and staff are committed to arranging for and providing excellent care to those we serve. It has always been Schreiber Pediatric's policy to respect each client's individuality and dignity. This document is published to ensure that the client and the client's family know of their longstanding rights at the Center and to alert clients and client's families of their responsibilities. Because many of Schreiber Pediatric's clients are minors, the interpretation of this policy is directed to the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) responsible for the minor's welfare.

HIPPA
HIPPA CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY OF PROTECTED HEALTH INFORMATION COMPLIANCE
Policy No. 127
This policy establishes a framework within which the Center meets requirements to achieve confidentiality and security of all protected information. All persons involved with creation, collection, handling and/or dissemination of confidential medical information are subject to the conditions of this policy. This includes all members of the staff, volunteers, trainees, students and any other individuals who have access to confidential information.

CORPORATE COMPLIANCE PROGRAM
Policy No. 136
Promoting a Culture of Integrity and Ethical Behavior
This formal, established program supports and ensures compliance with the Center's Code of Ethics policy, which sets forth its corporate commitment to lawful and ethical business conduct. The compliance program applies to all employees of Schreiber Pediatric Rehab Center. The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors will oversee the Compliance Program and the activities of the Corporate Compliance Offer (the Center's Human Resources Coordinator).

PATIENT GRIEVANCE POLICY
ADMINISTRATIVE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: Patient Grievance Policy
Policy No. 126
Each client has the right to consistent, high quality care. Also, the basic rights of human beings for independence of expression, decision and action, privacy and safety, and the concern for personal dignity and human relations are of great importance. It is the policy of this Center to promote these rights of all clients, and the Client Grievance Policy was designed to achieve client satisfaction by providing an effective system for handling complaints.

CLIENT ATTENDANCE
ADMINISTRATIVE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: Client Attendance Policy
Policy No. 501
Schreiber Pediatric Rehab Center believes that therapy provides the best results when it becomes a part of the family and child's daily routines and activities. We encourage regular participation in therapy sessions in order to benefit the child to his/her greatest capacity. In an effort to try and help support the many families that are on the waiting list for therapy, Schreiber Pediatric has established a new policy regarding client attendance.

SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY
ADMINISTRATIVE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: Support and Advocacy Policy
Policy No. 525
It is the policy of the Center to provide the most comprehensive service necessary to meet each client's individual needs. It follows that the Center be fully aware of current community resources in the event that a family requires services or support from another agency. The Center will maintain a roster of common referral sources, which will be updated on a continual basis.

ACCESSIBILITY PLAN
Schreiber Pediatric is committed to providing a barrier-free environment for persons with disabilities together with their families. This accessibility plan will outline the methodology by which we have identified barriers within our facility, our plans for removal of such barriers, our ongoing commitment to accessibility planning, and how we will communicate this plan to the stakeholders of the organization.
