Lots of ways to join the Duckie fun
Ticket sales for the 2016 Rubber Duckie Race™ have started, and people are already flocking to the new Spirit of Serving souvenir ducks and this year's race, which will feature 20,000 yellow racing ducks floating down the Conestoga River on Sept. 11.
But that's not the only way to connect with this year's 28th annual race and festival and support the kids of Schreiber. Consider:
Selling tickets. Every year, hundreds of Schreiber friends pick up stacks of tickets and bags of ducks to sell to family and friends. And we have businesses, including BB&T Bank, that agree to sell tickets to their customers. There are prizes for selling the most tickets, so join the fun and be a Schreiber duckie seller.
Celebrating the Big 8-0. We introduced the blue racing ducks last year, and they're back this year. There are only 5,000 of them, so the odds of winning are higher, and they come with a collection of higher-value prizes. And each blue ticket you buy for this race-within-a-race comes with one of our Big 8-0 Birthday ducks.
Sponsoring the event. Businesses can partner with Schreiber by signing up to sponsor the race or the festival. Be a sponsor for as little as $100, or jump in at one of the higher levels and receive an array of premium perks. Check out the sponsorship opportunities here. See the current roster of generous sponsors here.
Joining our Craft Show. Become a vendor in this year's Rubber Duckie Festival, and you can sell your goods in front of the 5,000 visitors who turn out for the event each year. Learn more here, and download an application here.
Becoming a volunteers. Saturday, Sept. 10: Teams needed to help us pack delivery trucks. Sunday, Sept. 11: Teams needed to set up and staff different parts of the festival and race and to tear down and pack trucks for the return. For details on all current volunteer opportunities, go here.
